Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi all! My name is Sean, and I'm a third year student studying Biology with minors in Data Science and French. Originally from Tucson, AZ, I have a lot of respect for the persistence of plant life across varied habitats. I currently do research in Thomas Hope's lab at Northwestern, and like to spend my free time baking (when I haven't gone to sleep early :0).

S671: Berry Scientific: Strawberry DNA Extraction in Splash Spring 2024 (May. 25, 2024)
Did you know that strawberries have ~5x as many protein-encoding genes as humans do? In this course, we'll get hands-on practice with experimental design while recreating the classic strawberry DNA extraction experiment, while giving an overview of modern genetics research. We'll also be giving a brief introduction to scientific literature, and how to use curiosity to investigate the (fruity) phenomena in life.

S651: Mission 46: Extract Strawberry DNA in Splash Spring 2023 (May. 27, 2023)

S632: Berry Scientific: An exploration of Strawberry Genetics and Genomics in Splash Winter 2023 (Feb. 26, 2023)
