Brief Biographical Sketch:
I am a physics graduate student in experimental particle physics. So, I work with large collaborations to build particle accelerators and detectors, then analyze the data. Currently, I work on the CMS detector a CERN, a six-story tall detector on a circular particle accelerator that is 18 miles around! Past Classes(Clicking a class title will bring you to the course's section of the corresponding course catalog)S503: The Standard Model of Particle Physics (without any complicated math) in Splash 2020 Fall (Online) (Nov. 14, 2020)
The Standard Model is our current best theory on the universe at the smallest scale. In this class, I will present the particles and interactions of the Standard Model, including the Higgs Boson. I hope to present these topics in a way that is accessible to people with basic physics and chemistry experience and without any unapproachable math.
