M440: Intro to Cryptography in Splash 2019 (Apr. 06, 2019)

An introduction to the methods and protocols used to secure electronic communication. We will discuss basic algorithms for encrypting and decrypting messages along with techniques for securely sharing secrets. No prior experience required, but knowledge of modular (clock) arithmetic is a plus.
