Brief Biographical Sketch:
I am a PhD candidate in the Anthropology department studying the underwater archaeology of South Carolina. Before coming to Northwestern I worked as a professional underwater archaeologist at Clemson University. Although I focus on a different region in my current research, Lake Michigan has an amazing number of shipwrecks and I am excited to investigate those as a part of SPLASH! Past Classes(Clicking a class title will bring you to the course's section of the corresponding course catalog)H511: Backyard Shipwrecks in Splash 2020 Fall (Online) (Nov. 14, 2020)
This class will explore the shipwrecks of Lake Michigan using the approaches of an underwater archaeologist. Students will investigate the shipwrecks of Chicago’s lake, learn about waterborne travel, and utilize archaeological methods to “dive into” local history.
